Detail of Equine Work-in-Progress

Despite battling the respiratory flu for the past week and a half, I have managed to complete the detail work of the bridle in the past couple of days.  Though I will return and go over the darkest and lightest areas again just prior to completion of the drawing, for now I'll call this area of the rendering -- done.

Though its unusual for me to be working on two or three drawings at a time, that's exactly what I find myself doing at present.  I'm feeling compelled to set this one aside for a time, and return to a larger equine piece that I began several months ago.  A couple of submission deadlines are looming in the not-to-distant future, and the larger works are more suitable for these.

Thanks for stopping in.

  2. Must be something in the water because I find myself doing that to...normailly I have to see out a piece from start to finish. Lovely detail and hopefully your flu bug will soon be a distant memory :)

  3. Colette and Elizabeth.....at least I clearly am in good company! I usually feel a little obsessed with finishing a piece prior to moving on. I am feeling better the past couple of days, so am slowly getting back in the saddle and catching up with all those things I got so behind on. Thanks so much.

  7. Thanks so much, Jim, Dianna, and Jennifer. Maybe I should title this piece "Tedious", because thats what that silver was to work on. I rather enjoyed it though -- even the parts that involved a magnifying glass......(and isn't the smell of leather horse tack just the best, Dianna -- I just love it!)

  8. The silver may have taken some "tedious" effort but it paid off - looks fabulous. It also looks like you enjoyed doing it and all while feeling ill. What a trooper! Glad to hear you are feeling better.

  10. Teresa and Barb -- thanks so much. Wellll.....I REALLY don't know how much of a "trooper" I am: cuz in all honesty, for about 10 days I developed a very personal relationship with my couch!
